PM Nawaz visits newly inducted aircraft A320


ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif visited the newly inducted aircraft A320 after a period of almost 10 years in the PIA fleet at Islamabad International Airport.
The Prime Minster had approved the inclusion of fourteen new aircrafts into the PIA fleet. Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Aviation, Mr. Shujaat Azeem, Managing Director PIA, Muhammad Junaid Yunus and Director Flight Operations PIA, Captain Qasim Hayat accompanied the Prime Minister during the visit.
Special Assistant to PM on Aviation briefed the PM that the airline is also in the process of inducting 14 aircraft in its fleet including Narrow body, Wide Body and Turbo-Prop aircraft. PIA has placed order for three A320 aircraft from GECAS of which one aircraft has been received while the remaining two will be delivered to PIA in July and September while the remaining aircraft will be inducted in the near future. The Airbus A320 has a seating capacity of 180 seats. The aircraft will be in operation.
While visiting the aircraft Prime Minster said that, “he would like to see more Pakistanis travelling with the national flag carrier, which should be the preferred choice of passengers”. The PM emphasized on providing best services to passengers and gave his best wishes for the success of PIA and offered his all out support for making it the one of the leading airline of the world.
Sharing his views during the visit, PM said that, “it’s pleasing to see the new aircraft being inducted in PIA fleet and prayed that with the present initiatives being taken; PIA shall soon be revived to its past glory”
